FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — It wasn't easy for the Razorbacks, but the Razorbacks took down the Bulldogs in game one of their four game series.

Arkansas struck first in the 2nd inning courtesy of Robert Moore's 2 RBI double with the bases loaded. Moore finished the afternoon 1-4. The lead didn't last long however as Gonzaga tied the ballgame up in the 3rd courtesy of Brett Harris' two run bomb.

Kole Ramage got the start but lasted just 2.2 innings giving up 2 earned runs on 4 hits. Reliever Caden Monke credited with the win after tossing 2 innings giving up just 1 hit with 3 strikeouts.

The Razorbacks caught a bit of luck in the bottom of the 3rd when a Casey Opitz routine pop out was lost in the sun. The Diamond Hogs scored 3 in the inning to take a 3 run lead before Gonzaga tied the game at 5 in the 5th.

The difference came in the 7th when Christian Franklin's hustle broke up a double play that would have ended the frame. Instead Arkansas took a 6-5 lead before adding another on a wild pitch.

Zebulon Vermillion recorded his first save of 2020 however he did surrender two singles in the 9th inning.

Connor Noland will be on the mound Friday afternoon for game two of the senior. First pitch is set for 3:00 PM on the SEC Network.
