1 dead after shooting at North Little Rock apartment complex

The victim was transported to UAMS for treatment, but died three days later due to his injuries.

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — According to the North Little Rock Police Department, a man is dead after being shot Thursday, September 12.

Officers were dispatched to 800 North Beech at 7:24 p.m. Thursday evening in reference to a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers found 38-year-old Alex Blueford suffering from several gunshot wounds. He was transported to UAMS for treatment.

During the investigation, 70-year-old Louis Thomas turned himself in at the Little Rock Police Department. 

Thomas was charged with First Degree Battery and transported to the Pulaski County Regional Detention Facility.

On September 15, NLRPD was notified by the Pulaski County Coroner's Office that Blueford had died as a result of his injuries.

Charges against Louis Thomas have been upgraded to First Degree Murder. He is being held without bond.

This is the city's 12th homicide of 2019.
