Dozens of people prayed outside the Arkansas State Capitol on Sunday, March 24.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Dozens of people prayed outside the Arkansas State Capitol on Sunday, March 24.

They honored the 49 victims who died earlier this month in a mass shooting at a mosque in New Zealand.

Organizers said they hope Sunday's vigil will promote peace and unity.

"When such events happen, it really breaks people just like it broke the Jewish community after Pittsburgh, just like it broke the people in South Carolina who were just worshiping in church," Sara Tariq said. "You know it really breaks people and the answer to that is coming together to heal."

Several religious leaders spoke at Sunday's rally -- to teach people about their religions.
