Arkadelphia wins back-to-back 4A titles

Following an 0-5 start to the season the Arkadelphia Badgers capped off 2018 with ten straight victories and their second consecutive 4A state title.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (THV11) - Following an 0-5 start to the season the Arkadelphia Badgers capped off 2018 with ten straight victories and their second consecutive 4A state title.

Weather conditions could not have been worse Saturday night at War Memorial Stadium, as Arkadelphia's defense was able to shutdown the high flying Robinson offense 28-0. Quarterback Cannon Turner accounted for 151 total yards and two touchdowns resulting in Turner bringing home MVP honors for the second straight year.

"We're just a brand new team. We grew so much over these past couple of weeks after going 0-5 and we've just played so much better as a team." Head coach J.R. Eldridge couldn't believe his team started 2018 with five straight losses, but he did believe that could end the year with a championship.

"Just so grateful for this opportunity and to see these guys grow as a football team and grow as individuals. You know it's great to see the difference that football can make in these players lives."
