Fans answer: Is there a rivalry between Arkansas and Mizzou?

The Razorbacks will again play against Mizzou at War Memorial every other year in 2021 and 2023

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) – The Arkansas Razorbacks will return to Little Rock at War Memorial Stadium to face the Missouri Tigers in 2019.

The Battle Line Rivalry is leaving some to ask: Is there actually a rivalry between Arkansas and Mizzou?

“It is still in its infancy. It’s getting developed. You let a couple of good games come by,” Steve Jenkins said.

Most Hogs fans THV11 spoke with are saying the competition is not there quite yet.

"I think it's something that will grow in the future and will become stronger and stronger overtime,” Paul Rainwater said.

With the official announcement saying the Razorbacks are staying in the capital city, the Hogs pride is strong in central Arkansas.

"I was extremely excited. I had a buddy call me up going ‘Did you hear? Did you hear!” Chris Outlaw said.

Steve Jenkins owns seven stores dedicated to Razorbacks gear called Hogman’s Gameday Superstore. He said this Arkansas/Mizzou game will do a lot for Little Rock.

"By having at least one game every other year in Little Rock it continues to allow us to reach out to fans that can't make it up to Fayetteville,” Jenkins said. "By establishing a firm date for this, it'll really help build that rivalry and build this game."

Jenkins also said people can better plan their schedules around the War Memorial game because it will always be the day after Thanksgiving.

“In the last couple of years the game has moved around a bit. Now, it’ll be the last game of the season,” he said.

Although the Razorbacks won't face off with Mizzou until 2019, there's one thing fans can always agree on...

"I just want to beat Missouri,” Rainwater said.
